About Susie Lloyd
Susie works as a Highly Specialist Stammering Therapist, in the NHS and independent practice.
She is passionate about working together with you to help you make the changes that you would like to see in your life and in your communication.
She has worked as a speech therapist with people who stammer for 20 years, and has specialised in this clinical area for 16 years. Her work is grounded in current evidence based practice, and her approach is client led, collaborative, compassionate, and stammer-affirming.
Susie has an MSc in Speech and Language Sciences, and is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, The Health Professions Council, The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice, and the National Stammering Clinical Excellence Network.

Stammering therapy is suitable for anyone who feels that their stammer, or the way that they have been managing their stammer, has begun to impact on their wellbeing.
Stammering therapy can benefit a wide range of people, from people who stammer tensely or often, to those who hardly stammer openly at all, but have become burnt out and exhausted by the effort to do so.
It doesn't matter whether you have been stammering since childhood, or have developed a stammer more recently, in adulthood. There is no right or wrong time to start therapy, and many people are pleasantly surprised by how much stammering therapy has changed since their early experiences.
Benefits can include...
Is Stammering Therapy For You?
Reduced tension and struggle
Stammering in a more comfortable, relaxed, forward-flowing way, with reduced tension and struggle which can stem from trying to suppress or push through a stammered moment.
Increased spontaneity
Speaking more freely and spontaneously, without changing what you want to say, minimising what you say, or holding back in conversations.
Authentic communication
Letting go of some of the things you might currently do to try to avoid, postpone or hide stammering, which you might now feel are getting in the way of your authentic communication.
Living fully
Participating more fully in your life without avoiding any speaking situations.
Increased enjoyment
Enjoying speaking more, free of any negative feelings like anxiety, frustration or embarrassment that might have built up around your stammer.
Moving forwards
A future where worry about stammering does not impact on your decisions or opportunities in your friendships, relationships, work and education.
